Common Questions About Business Water - Answered

If your business is based in England or Scotland, you will be eligible to switch your supplier. Northern Ireland-based businesses cannot switch. Businesses in Wales can switch, but only if they use over 50 megalitres of water a year.

Once you’ve looked through our comparison pages and decided on a new supplier, sit back and we’ll handle the rest. You will receive confirmation once the switch has happened, then a final bill from your previous retailer and a first bill from your new one.

Switching supplier won’t cost you unless you need to buy out of your previous contract.

Nope! You’re only changing retailer, not supply.

It takes roughly 28 days to switch water provider, including a ‘cooling off’ period for your previous retailer. This does depend on how many sites your business has.

The easiest way to find your water supplier is to find a recent bill. Once you find a copy, we’ll be able to tell you whether you could benefit from switching.

If you can’t find a recent bill, it is likely you are still being serviced by the regional water supplier for your area. If you’re still uncertain, the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) have a handy water supplier map by region.

To find out specific charges for your business you should contact your water company.

You’ll be charged either for the amount of water you use, plus a set charge if you’re on a meter, or you’ll pay a set amount based on the value of your commercial property.

Water bills are split between water usage and waste water services. You may use a company for one, the other, or both.
