Assured Energy & Connectus Utilities Team Up to Provide Speedy Meter Installation Turnaround for Constellation RFB

Constellation RFB Ltd is a UK-based company operating in the bakery and retail food sector, specialising in the manufacture of bread, fresh pastries, cakes, and other bakery products for retail sale. 

As a growing multi-site business, Constellation RFB needed to complete a new electricity supply contract and install a commercial current transformer (CT) meter following a power upgrade at one of its sites. With tight project deadlines and the need to minimise disruption to operations, the company required a fast solution. 

Working together, Assured Energy and its sister company, Connectus Utilities, managed the entire process. From arranging the new electricity supply contract to coordinating the CT meter installation, they were able to provide a seamless service to help Constellation RFB get its upgraded power supply operational as quickly as possible. 

Preventing Delays Through Early Intervention 

Following a power upgrade at the site, a new MPAN had been created. However, the address details held on the national database were incorrect, creating a risk of delays to the electricity supply contract, impacting the wider project timeline. 

Assured Energy identified the issue early and worked to ensure the MPAN information was corrected before progressing with the Letter of Authority (LOA) and contract arrangements. 

Once the details were updated, Assured Energy supported Constellation RFB through the next stages of the process, including reviewing supply contract options, coordinating with the Meter Operator (MOP) and Data Collector (DC), and managing the supplier onboarding process. 

The upgraded supply required a new 400/5 CT metering arrangement to support a capacity of 173 kVA. Working closely with Constellation RFB, Palmer Consulting, Connectus Utilities, Total Utility Connections and Npower, Assured Energy coordinated the remaining activities and secured a meter installation date of 29 May 2026, so that the project could progress without unnecessary delays. 

Fast, Coordinated Delivery 

Working collaboratively, Assured Energy and Connectus Utilities completed the project in approximately two weeks- significantly faster than the typical industry timeframe of 8 to 12 weeks for a new commercial electricity contract and CT meter installation. 

By speeding up the contracting and installation process, the team enabled Constellation RFB to proceed with its site upgrade without unnecessary delays. The rapid turnaround ensured the site had a fully operational electricity supply and compliant metering solution in place from day one, allowing business operations to move forward undisrupted.
